dc.description.abstract | This report is about the implementation of a Project Management Office at Waterman Foundry & Workshop, Gujranwala . Pakistan. In this report we have analyzed the current situation of this organization and the problems facing by organization due to absence of Project Management Office. The research shows that the project management framework was used negligibly on some occasions, and had a negligible influence, ownership, implication and outcomes related to the ongoing projects. Given the current demand of a formalized Project Management Office in projectized sector, in particular, we need to establish a PMO in Waterman Foundry & Workshop, Gujranwala. Pakistan. Waterman Foundry & Workshop, Gujranwala an organization on large scale that operates in a matrix structure . Such type of organization needs a more formalized and influential PMO,so that this can operate successfully and own various projects across the organization. The establishment of PMO can help the organization to do the projects in effective way and all the projects will be centralized at Project Management Office. PMO will be the final authority for the approvals of projects, assignment of resources, and project delivery . PMO cannot do well without a strong project management tool because tools can help projects in resource assignment, schedule and cost estimates, work breakdown structure and project overall delivery, and also can make work easier for project manager and other staff members, even for stakeholders . Implementing MS Project Server 2010 can help organization for making work breakdown structures, schedule, cost estimates, resource assignments etc. This report also highlights the benefits of Project Server 2010 in the PMO, and how it addresses various management issues and offers flexibility in term of resource assignment and overall project delivery . | en_US |
