| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of Islamic workplace spirituality on organizational sustainability and to explore the mediating effect of employee ngagement between Islamic workplace spirituality and organizational sustainability. A total sample size of 413 respondents was collected through web-based and physical survey conducted in private, public and not for profit organizations in Pakistan. The collected data was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis, Correlation and Regression through SPSS. The findings of the study suggested that two dimensions of Islamic workplace spirituality named as religiosity and workplace spiritual values have a significant positive relationship with organizational sustainability and employee engagement mediates the relationship between the two dimensions of Islamic workplace spirituality and organizational sustainability. The limitation of the study was time constraint and the scope of study couldn’t focus one specific industry in Pakistan. So, to overcome the limitations, it is suggested that future research should be conducted in other developing Islamic economies and it should also focus on one specific industry e.g. IT or telecommunication. It is expected that the study provides scholarly understanding in the field of Islamic workplace spirituality, employee engagement and organizational sustainability. The study provides guidelines for managers how they can increase the organizational sustainability by measuring spiritual dimension of their employees. Moreover, it helps managers understand that how they can positively engage employees at their work place for organizational outcomes like sustainability and productivity. This study is one of the first to empirically test the relationship between Islamic workplace spirituality, employee engagement and organizational sustainability in Pakistani context | en_US |
