Abstract:
The thesis investigates the impact of Green Supply Chain Management practices (Internal Environment, Collaboration with Customers, Green Purchasing, Warehousing, and Green Building) on performance. It investigates the Green Supply Chain Management practices implementation in the manufacturing industry of Pakistan. The study also observes how the dimensions of performance including Environmental, Financial and Operational effects the overall performance of the organization. The data was collected from the mangers from tactical, middle and top management of manufacturing firms in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The sample size of the study was 180. Data were analyzed using SPSS software by running correlation and regression tests to examine the relationship between the variables and test the hypotheses developed. The findings of the study show that GSCM practices (Internal Environment, Collaboration with Customers, Green Purchasing, Warehousing and Green Building, Environmental Performance) significantly impacts Environmental Performance and Financial Performance. No significant relation was seen between Environmental Performance and Financial Performance. Environmental was observed to positively impact Operational Performance and there was significantly weaker relationship between Financial Performance and Operational Performance. Moreover, there was a strong association between Environmental Performance, Financial Performance, and Organizational Performance. But no relationship was seen between Operational Performance and Organizational Performance. The study provides direction to the practitioners and researchers by providing a framework for assessing the synergistic impact of GSCM practices on performance and delivers a detailed understanding of the connections between variables. The study was restricted to Islamabad/Rawalpindi/ only. This study is different from the recent study conducted by Khanand Qainli (2017) as it focuses on examining the combined effect of GSCM practices on the III dimensions of Organizational Performance separately (Environmental, Financial and Operational) and the GSCM practices considered for this study are also different
