The impact of project governance, communication and contract on project success with mediating role of trust

Abstract

Due to the presence of intense competition in the market, no organization can compromise on the success of project. Project success is the major area of concern for all the project managers. This research work is specially done to highlight those issues due to which the projects can be successful. Project success is strongly linked with the communication, contract and governance of the project. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of communication, contract and project governance on the success of project in IT and telecom sector. This study is empirical in nature and provides a clear image that how these factors effects the project success. This study also reveals the mediating impact of trust between the project success and communication, contract and project governance. The statistical analysis of the study confirms that communication, contract and project governance has positive significant impact on the success of project. Trust also mediates the relationship between them. The data has been collected through online survey questionnaires. The questionnaire has been adapted from past studies. The total number of complete respondents are 254. The simple linear regression method has been used for the testing of all hypothesis. All the analysis test has been conducted on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The data has been collected from the members of top level management of organization, project management members, project team, contractors and subcontractors of IT and telecom sector in twin cities i.e. Rawalpindi and Islamabad of Pakistan.
