dc.description.abstract One of the leading industries of 21st century is IT industry. With the emergence of IT industry in Pakistan number of complex projects are increasing day by day and challenges associated with this industry are substantial. Using deductive methodology, Researcher tried to understand how EI of project managers contributes to the success of the projects in the IT sector of Pakistan. Researcher suggest and run a model by connecting emotional intelligence of project managers with project success and also examined the mediating effects of affective commitment and job satisfaction of project manager on the success of projects. Grounded on the collected data from 170 project managers of IT industry including telecom sector of twin cities of Pakistan Islamabad and Rawalpindi, results indicate that project manager’s emotional intelligence having positive impact on the success of project, AC and job satisfaction. Further, evidence has been found that affective commitment and JS strongly mediates the relationship between emotional intelligence and PS. Discoveries of the examination work suggest that while assigning a project to project manager or hiring a new project manager, top management should consider emotional intelligence because of its impact on affective commitment and job satisfaction of project manager. This can lead to an increase in the probability of project success in complex and difficult project situations. en_US
