Abstract:
The main and primary objective of this study is to investigate and analyze the effect of different motivational factors on project team member’s motivation and the impact of motivation on project performance. The project team member’s motivation depends upon number of variables (Interpersonal Interactions, Type of Tasks, General Working Conditions, Empowerment of individuals in a project team, Opportunities of Personal Development and Compensation/ rewards/incentives) which have great effect on employee’s motivation. The instrument used to measure the study is questionnaire. Two separate questionnaires were distributed online among the employees of different IT companies situated at Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Karachi&Peshawar.The questionnaire was distributed to the employees who are working in a team on an IT project. The received responses were filtered and then analyzed by using statistical analysis techniques (Reliability of scale, Regression, correlation, ANOVA).The findings of the study are; Interpersonal Interactions, Type of Tasks, General Working Conditions, Empowerment of individuals in a project team, Opportunities of Personal Development and the Compensation/ rewards/ incentives have direct and positive relation with project team member motivation which proves that our hypotheses H1,H2,H3,H4,H5 and H6 are supported by the results of the study (i.e.) “There is a significant positive effect of Interpersonal Interactions, Type of Tasks, General Working Conditions, Empowerment of individuals in a project team, Opportunities of Personal Development and Compensation/ rewards/ incentives on motivation level of project team members”. Similarly, it was found that there is direct and positive relation of motivation of project team members with project performance. Hence our hypotheses H7 is also supported by the results of the study
