Abstract:
Our project is about “Automation of Transport Management System and Scheduling of Pakistan
Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). This will fully automate the whole transport
department.
It will help the organizations and employee to interact with each other and to fully automate
PTCL transport management and scheduling it. It will also help transport department to store and
keep track of vehicles.
We are developing this system to facilitate the whole transport department of PTCL, because the
previous system was file based which take a lot of human efforts and requires lots of pages
which are very difficult to store and keep track of previous data. Often the information is
incomplete, inconsistence and does not follow the management standard of the organization.
Due to these flaws and disadvantages of existing system of transport we are developing system
which will fully automate the transport system.
Our system is based on 3-tier architecture which includes Presentation layer, business logic layer
and data repository.
It is a web based application along with oracle database server to store previous as well as
current data.
Transport system includes vehicle information, vehicle allotment, maintenance and service.
All information regarding transport are arranged in an appropriate and cost wise manner for the
better understanding and for ease of use of transport system this will automate the scheduling of
transport system by making it more appropriate and error free. The purpose of making the
information standard that data integrity is done in an efficient manner and inconsistencies are
removed. Other than that, the system is user friendly and easy to use that helps the fleet staff to
manage the transport related information.
This application has good user interface so that any relevant user can access easily. This
application provides the management reports like Occupancy report, Approval status report, to
track the usage of company’s transport facility.
After the completion of this project it will be fully integrated in to PTCL system in order to save
resources and save man power of PTCL.
In this we will design simple algorithm which tells us about the availability of vehicle.
