Abstract:
Sara and Suri fields are located at the eastern border of Pakistan adjacent to Bikaner-Nagaur basin of India which has good hydrocarbon exploration history. Sara and Suri fields are currently operated by Jurua Energy with joint venture of OGDCL. This field has high hydrocarbon potential at C Sands and Basal Ghazij Sands level. The Sara and Suri field has unique exploration history because an unknown producing zone (Basal Ghazij Sand) of 10m encountered in Sara-3 well which is not encountered in the western side of this field whereas same formation encountered in Indian side with good hydrocarbon potential. Structural interpretation along with attribute analysis confirms strike slip faulting with horst structure present in Sara and Suri area. Similarity variance attribute applied on seismic data confirms presence of normal faulting and strike slip component in this area. Seismic inversion applied on data shows reservoir properties and reveals presence of shale packages within lower Goru B sands. Velocity inversion shows drop of velocity at B sands level whereas at SML level there is no such behavior of velocity is observed. Petro physical analysis of Sara West-01 well shows two promising zone of 2.8 and 3.8m at C sands level. Porosities and other physical properties shows that these levels are sufficient to produce hydrocarbon commercially. Whereas petro physics of Daud-X-01 does not show any hydrocarbon potential at B Sands and C Sands Level.
