dc.description.abstract The Punjab Platform marks the eastern part of Central Indus Basin. The Suleiman depression and fold belt to the west, Sargodha High to the north and Pokhran High to the south of Punjab Platform. The petroleum prospect and hydrocarbons discovery in the adjacent, Bikaner Nagaur Basin, India instilled the quest to defme the petroleum system within the Punjab Platform. The objectives were accomplished by the help of seismic attribute analysis and facies analysis which enhanced structural style and visualized stratigraphic features of area. The facies analysis has explained the stacking patterns and lithological variations within the reservoir formations 2D data set including two strike lines, four dip lines _and three well log data from, Fort Abbas -01 , Bijnot-01 and Ahmadpur- were used. The structural style shows the extensional tectonic, effect of rift activity during late Proterozoic age, Permo-Triassic and Cretaceous-Tertiary age as a vertical to sub vertical normal faults forming slight, horst and graben blocks. The commencement of deeper faults in upper horizons is due to basement reactivation with regards to tectonic activity in Eocene age. The seismic time structure map and depth structure maps displays the tectonic style and faults observed. The seismic time maps and depth maps show that the well Bijnot-0 I was drilled on a down thrown block. The correct placement of well is suggested and defmed as seismic lead on the level of Khewra Sandstone, and Chiltan Formation towards eastern side of seismic line. The stratigraphic features enhanced by seismic attributes also mark the proximal side of basin to be in east of Punjab Platform. The sands fGoru Formation progrades from east to west, with their maximum thicknesses in east, which is closer to basin. en_US
