dc.description.abstract The study area lies in the Lower Indus basin which contains a number of producing oil and gas fields of Pakistan. It lies nearly 150 km SE of Karachi city and mostly located within the Thatta District, Sindh Province. Tectonically, the study area is located in the extensional regime. Normal faults creating the horst and graben and tilted fault block structures. These structures are very important in making the oil and gas traps. Discoveries show that 53% of in place volume of the total discovered hydrocarbon volume is oil and the remaining 47% in place volume is gas. The objective of research is to incorporate the geological and geophysical interpretation to understand the structural evolution, recognized leads and prospect and to carry out the petro physical interpretation in order to finalize the resources and reserves. In the study area all the elements of petroleum system are functioning. Ten seismic lines and three wells data (Jabo-01, Jabo-05 and Raj East-01) were utilized after getting approval from DGPC. By using Petrel software, Seismic interpretation was done to get the clear picture of the subsurface reservoirs. Selected wells drilled only the Upper part of Lower Goru Formation so only the main reservoir Top Lower Goru of Cretaceous age and Khadro horizon of Paleocene age is picked to generate the TWT and Depth map for further evaluation of prospect description. The result of seismic interpretation reveals that the faults marked on seismic section are all normal faults that are conformably related to the regional geology of the Lower Indus Basin. Three structural closures were identified on Top Lower Goru level, in which one prospect is identified and the remaining two at Jabo area and Raj East area were already drilled. Prospect A is identified on the TWT and Depth Map. Prospect A has a three way dip closure with fault bounded at western side. The prospect has an area of 5.7 sq.km. Petro physical evaluation reveals that B sand has net pay of 27m with average porosity of 12 to 18%. Prospect A has mean GIIPs of 10 BCF with 50% Chance of success, which could be the suitable candidate of future drilling. en_US
