dc.description.abstract The main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of Bhangali-01 and Bhangali-02 wells. Bhangali oil field is located in the Gujjar khan district Rawalpindi, province Punjab, Pakistan. The area lies in the Soan-block central Potwar Upper Indus basin, Pakistan. The Bhangali well 01 is located at latitude 33ᵒ 15ꞌ 15.0ꞌꞌ N and longitude 73ᵒ 07ꞌ 19.9ꞌꞌ E whereas Bhangali well 02 is located at latitude 33ᵒ 14ꞌ 17ꞌꞌ N and longitude 73ᵒ 06ꞌ 39ꞌꞌ E. This field lies in the south of Main Boundary Thrust (MBT) and north of Salt Range Thrust (SRT), Upper Indus basin. Mostly anticlines structures and reverse faults are present in the area under investigation and the rocks range from Paleocene to Miocene in age. Chorgali Formation is the proven reservoirs of Bhangali-01 and bhangali-02 wells. To evaluate the potential of this reservoir, petro physical properties were calculated and analyzed. Two zones of interest were marked in Bhangali-01 well, Chorgali Formation, One at a depth of 11984-12020 feet with having effective porosity 19.8%, average porosity 22.2%, neutron porosity 14%, density porosity 30%, water saturation 4.29% and hydrocarbon saturation 95.71%. The other at the depth of 12044-12054 feet with having effective porosity of 14.1%, average porosity 19.4%, neutron porosity 23%, density porosity 15.8%, water saturation 28.52% and saturation of hydrocarbon 71.48%. Only one zone was marked in Chorgali Formation of Bhangali-02 well at a depth 12226-12264 feet with effective porosity 12.6%, average porosity 13.5%, neutron porosity 7.8%, density porosity 19.3%, water saturation 24.75%, and saturation of hydrocarbon 75.2%. Petrophysical evaluation proved that both well possess good hydrocarbon potential en_US
