Abstract:
This thesis aims to understand the structural style and subsurface structural geometries along with petro physical analysis of the target zone (Sakesar Limestone) in Daiwal-01 well, Gujar Khan Area, Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. To achieve these objectives, seismic and well log data was acquired from LMKR with the permission of DGPC. After performing quality check, the seismic interpretation and petro physical analysis were carried out. Seismic interpretation was done by selecting a key profile, preparation Time-depth chart, seismic to well tie and marking and extending the reflectors. Total six reflectors were marked, in which formations repetition indicate strong trusting present in the area. Two thrust sheets were interpreted, separated by an intermediate decollement. The lower thrust sheet is further trusted and folded by two imbricate faults which join to floor thrust marking a duplex geometry. These geometries were confirmed by preparing TWT contour, depth and velocity maps. Petro physical analysis were performed on both Sakesar Limestone, since low values of Gamma ray log, separation between MFSL and LLD, Neutron and Density log crossover and Caliper log stability restricts us to mark a zone of interest. A net pay zone of 2 meters was marked on the basis of cut off values which show 9.5% effective porosity, 38.5% saturation of water. Overall Sakesar Limestone represents a tight reservoir in this well.
