| dc.description.abstract | Generally the aim was to understand the tectonics and geology of the Balkasar area along with the interpretation procedure of migrated seismic sections and to check out the subsurface structures. As the area is a compressional regime so faults were marked according to their type and structure they are making. Formations were marked with the help of Well Balkasar OXY 1. Interpretation was done on the migrated seismic lines PBJ-04, PBJ-05, PBJ-06 and PBJ-09 of Balkasar area. This data was obtained from Land Mark Resources (LMKR) by the permission of Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC) Islamabad. The general dip direction in the project area of lines PBJ-04, PBJ-05, PBJ-06 is NW-SE and hence the line PBJ-09 oriented SW-NE is regarded as strike line. The required information was in time domain which was helpful in the conversion of time into depth by solving the velocity windows given in the seismic sections with the help of equation i.e s=vt. These calculations helped in subsurface interpretation of the area, which was the basic purpose of this project. Five reflectors were marked named Chorgali, Sakesar, Patala, Lockhart and Basement. Time and depth contour maps were generated which helped us to know the basic mechanism of tectonic settings in the area. Generation of Synthetic Seismogram and Petrophysical analysis were also the part of our project. | en_US |
