Effect of internet on the youth in a Pakistani society

Abstract

The Internet is a new revolution to all of mankind. People are using computers for tasks unimaginable ten years ago The Internet only took four years to reach well over fifty million users. The Internet's extreme rate of growth will continue while we have no idea where it will take us. The Internet is becoming the most important tool to humans today There are many different uses for every kind of person. The internet has different effects on people. Some are good and some are bad. Internet is used for a variety of different purposes by the youth of Pakistan. In this study, students from different English medium schools, colleges and universities in Islamabad were taken and the effects of internet noted and analyzed. This study is a Descriptive study. I 00 respondents in total were taken as sample. From the O' Levels program 25 respondents were taken, 35 from A' Levels and 40 from the Bachelors program. The statistical tools applied were Frequency distribution and Weighted Average Mean. In the fourth chapter the results were analyzed and on the basis of which the hypothesis were accepted or rejected. At the end, summary, conclusion and recommendations were given on the basis of the findings. These are directed towards in what different ways internet should be used and not used. And what different effects Internet has on the youth in our country today.
