dc.description.abstract In the name of Allah the most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace "Nun Consider the pen and all that they write therewith Say: God is He Who has brought you all into being and has endowed you with hearing and sight and hearts; yet how seldom are you grateful! (Al-Quran 68:1 & 67:23(Surah- AI-Qalam & Surah- Al-Mulk) When the new millennium was about to dawn, the previous one was labeled as the millennium of the pen and the new millennium as the age of the computer in which all human activities would be totally controlled by the computer whether it may be email, ecommerce e-banking etc. Three years into the millennium, it is now becoming apparent that the manager with his expertise of good speaking & writing remains the dominant factor in international & global business. Business Communication in all its various forms is thus critical to the success of any business venture or deal. Though various other subjects and techniques of marketing, economics & financial management are studied and mastered to become a good business manager, yet command over business communication plays a vital role in achieving excellence in the field of business management, whether one is a student in a business school or a manager in a business organization. This research project explores and determines the correlation between the students' performance in business communication as one of the subjects and their overall academic performance at the undergraduate level of Business Management studies. The universities selected for this purpose were Bahria University Islamabad & International Islamic University Islamabad. The sample were taken at random to avoid biasness The statistical tests used to test the data regarding the sample were Frequency distribution which gives a clear idea as to what is the distribution pattern of the sample taken. Scatter diagram & plotting line of regression gives a clear idea as to what is the trend of the sample based on the data collected regarding the sample & Pearson correlation which is used to test the data as to see whether there is any strong correlation between the two variable or not. 11 In case of Bahria University a strong correlation between Business Communication grades and CGP A, which is the measure of the student's overall academic performance, was seen. In the case of Islamic International University no strong or visible correlation was seen between Business Communication grades and CGP A of the students as per mathematical tests. But plotting the scatter diagram and the line of regression showed that with increasing Business Communication grades, the CGPA of the students also increased. en_US
