dc.description.abstract The research study for 'motivational tools and techniques that affect employees turnover at . PTCL' has been conducted to identify the important motivational factors that affect the employees and their decision to stay with the company. most. The research is very vital for the PTCL as in last December 2002 the monopoly of PTCL has ended and now soon competitors will enter in the market thus making it crucial for PTCL to retain its good employees. So now the importance of retaining employees has got a new shape and is becoming a worse problem for all the big companies. Because we live in an economy in which all work is becoming knowledge work and in which intellectual capital is important for company success and, indeed, its value in the capital markets, there is an assumption that "the company with the best talent wins." Many managers think that its very much expensive for a firm to spend on the motivational programs but here I rightly argue that the motivation is a scientific technique which can be practiced in a way of monetary practices or psychological practices. From this study I've learned that the motivation is very much involved with the perception and is more influenced by the psychological practices rather than the monetary ones. And its also evident from the results of this study which clearly• indicates that the most motivating factor which prohibits employees from leaving is growth opportunities, followed by empowerment and job enrichment. . . Job satisfaction is a state that cannot be seen but inferred, If employee finds the factors that are considered by him/her as motivator then the one's job satisfaction level will raise but surprisingly if the company lacks in most motivating factor as perceived by the employee, the employee is likely to leave organization at some time although he/she seems to be satisfied with job but the one most demanding factor will force them to make this decision. The data collected has been analyzed with the help of frequency distribution and then the statistical tests like T-test, Pearson Correlation test, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The conclusion of this whole research is that its only motivation by which one can retain an employee. And the motivation and employees turnover are inversely related to each other. ' en_US
