dc.description.abstract Augmented Reality (AR) as it is called today is the process of adding inorganic objects to an organic environment (mostly visual) through the use of various image processing middle wares and frameworks. Augmented Reality is a direct precursor of the concept of mediated reality. The general concept of mediated reality is that of normal reality being modified by a computer. The main purpose of Augmented Reality is to replace real reality with a simulated or a virtual one. In the modern age, Augmented Reality has become a vital industrial tool as well as a social staple. Almost every social media app has an Augmented Reality component while many industrial fields such as Aviation, geology and general Industry have adopted Augmented Reality as training aids as well as applications in vital operational tools. Today, Aircraft, Helicopters and even motor vehicles use Augmented Reality as navigational aids. In recent years, Augmented Reality has distinguished itself as a vital marketing tool with almost every top leading brand releasing their own Augmented Reality Application. The purpose of our application is to demonstrate the use of Augmented Reality as marketing tool in the garments industry. Our Application will act as a hand held Augmented Reality tool, allowing the end user to observe how different clothing articles will suit them, through real time projection. The main components used in the creation of this project are the Unity 3D editor, the vuforia?- AR library and various externally sourced 3d models. en_US
