dc.description.abstract This is an era of technology and technology is evolving day by day. World has become global street from global village. As modern technology and gadgets are not bound to any limits, the new idea of making smart cane/walker for visually impaired or blind people is just seems to be great innovation. This way blind persons can walk optimally and responsively, not exactly like normal persons but they going to reach very closer to them. It is mostly seen that blind or visually impaired person walks via stick or walker. So it is aimed to make an advanced and intuitive white cane that allows blind person to get to know what obstacle is coming in front of it, either it can be any obstacle or it can be water or moisture too. Moreover, such smart cane will also be including optional feature of GPS (global positioning system) tracking feature to find lost person and as in other features it will be telling the blind person about the direction of stairs i.e. upward or downward, before reaching too closer. The main purpose of the project is to build a device or gadget which will help blind person to walk closely like normal people. This device will be more responsive and will have new technical features. Further it is still under consideration what blind person can have issues and boundaries if he/she wants to walk. What are limitations etc? Up till now these are obstacle detection, water/moisture detection, elevation or depression of stairs etc. As in notification, person can be notified via beep tone, or via head phone etc. en_US
