| dc.description.abstract | This research study investigates the perception of students at Bahria University Islamabad regarding their learning experience at workplace. The study examines different types of learning experience by the students through different modes. The study also examines the question of whether certain personality characteristics facilitate students' access to such experiences. Students (n=90) were given questionnaires to fill in their perception on the subject of workplace learning based on their experiences during internships. The results of the study reveals that work-based learning is very beneficial for the students as it lays the foundations for professional learning through workplace experiences. Workplace learning provides opportunity to get in depth exposure of the particular field. The findings also show that the personality characteristic such as confidence is very helpful in promoting learning at workplace. Thus it is recommended that the importance of work-based learning should be recognized among all the beneficiaries i.e. students, companies and educational institutions and at all levels, initiatives should be taken to improve the quality and integration of learning in the workplace. | en_US |
