Smart cinema: online movie times and ticket booking

Abstract

This era of technology is resulting in the world moving towards using mobile applications to carry out even the most menial of tasks. Smart phones have become our watches, calculators, alarm clocks, and much more. And with the increase in the number of useful mobile applications being uploaded toapp stores every day, the list of uses of a Smartphone keeps increasing as well. This project is aimed to be another one of these useful applications. Smart Cinema is an Android application that lets users view movie timings from different cinemas within the city and also to book tickets for specific show times. This saves users the time to check many different websites for different cinemas to compare the movie timings and lets them easily decide the optimal show time for their desired movie. It also eliminates the hassle of having to go to the cinemas early to pay for booked tickets, as users can pay right from within the application, provided that they have enough balance in their wallet
