dc.description.abstract Standards make an enormous contribution to most aspects of our lives although very often, that contribution is invisible. It is when there is an absence of standards that their importance is brought home. ISO first published its quality standards in 1987,revised them 1994, and then republished an updated version in 2000.These new standards are referred to as the "ISO 9000 2000 Standards". The new standard ISO 9001:2000 emphasizes the need to make improvements. While the old standard did implicitly expect organizations to make improvements . A structured interviews were conducted from the top management of service shoes industry to see the impact of ISO 9001 :2000 before and after certification. The top management to whom interviews were conducted includes procurement officer and assistant procurement officer, production manager and assistant production manager, operation manager quality management team and QMS 9000 consultants. From the research it is concluded that there is increase the productivity and product reliability of manufacturing concluded that concerns by reducing ISO 9001:2000 reduces cost. It is also the product scrap, reword and rejections and Better documentation or control of processes leads to consistency in performance, as a result organization gets very good reputation and establishes that organization as dedicated to quality improvement. en_US
