dc.description.abstract My name is Muhammad Zeeshan Munir. Under the supervision of Mr. Rashid Karim, I have completed my research thesis on,"The current status of Information Technology in the public sector of Pakistan". This thesis aims at studying and analyzing the current status of Information Technology in the public sector of the country. This has been done with a view to identifying and determining a trend, increasing or decreasing, in the use of Information Technology in the public sector. This research thesis makes use of both primary as well as secondary data. Survey conducted in various public sector organizations through distribution of questionnaires to 50 public sector officials, as well as data analyzed from various secondary sources indicated the increasing trend in the use of Information Technology in the country. However, the government of the country needs to train the public sector employees in a manner that they are fully and properly equipped to make the best possible use of information technology. en_US
