dc.description.abstract This report has presented the true picture of the working conditions provided to women. Very few people and NGOS are working to bring the difference. Every problem has a solution, so does this one. Only proper steps need to be taken instead of saying and writing. This report is just a start and an effort to highlight the problems of working women. There is lot more to do and lot more can be done. In order to study effects in detail, carefully designed questionnaires were distributed among the sample i.e. working women of the twin cities. The sample chosen was highly diversified in terms of demographic profile in order to get unbiased results. Harassment faced by women at their workplaces was carefully studied along with demographic profile i.e. their age, marital status, qualification and their working level in the organization they work in. The results obtained through the study showed that majority of young women who step into the job market are somehow or the other subjected to harassment by their male colleagues and superiors. This problem is amplified for single women. Also women working at low and middle levels are also more likely to be harassed because of their lack of awareness of their rights. Another very disturbing phenomenon observed was that very often, women subjected to harassment do not even disclose their problems because of the rigid prevalent norms of the society. This report is an effort to highlight those problems and make women aware of their rights. en_US
