dc.description.abstract The current study aims to investigate the effects of lean supply chain management (LSCM) practices on supply chain performance of manufacturing and retail organizations in the region of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. This study aims to target the industry of wood and allied products. Three LSCM practices were identified based on an extensive literature review, namely, information flow, customer relationship, and waste reduction. To achieve the study goals, a survey questionnaire was prepared and distributed to managers and workers of manufacturing and retail organizations. The results revealed positive and significant effects of three LSCM practices on supply chain performance, namely, information flow, waste reduction and customer relationship. This study is motivated by the fact that the effect of LSCM on supply chain performance is an under-investigated area in the literature. It contributes to the existing knowledge by identifying the most widely-used LSCM practices and exploring their effects on supply chain performance of manufacturing and retail organizations in a developing country.
