| dc.description.abstract | The data obtained for the seismic, petrophysical and rock physics analysis included the seismic lines 97-Myl-05, 97-Myl-07, 97-Myl-08, 97-Myl-10, 97-Myl-12 and well log data of Meyal-17 which was released by the Landmark Resources with prior approval from the Directorate General of Petroleum Concession for carrying out this study. First four lines are trending N-S while the later is E-W. Reflector (R1) of Chorgali Formation is marked to investigate the geological structure present in the area. Time and depth sections were prepared to observe reflector position. Time and depth contour maps show pop-up structure, so this may act as trap for hydrocarbons. Low velocities in the structure show the presence of hydrocarbons. Main bounding fault which is south dipping and north verging is a sealing fault confirmed by the Fault Seal Analysis using Allen Diagram. Subsurface pop-up structure is identified by the Geo-seismic section, prepared for seismic line 97-MYL- 07 by incorporating well information on seismic section. Petrophysical analyses for reservoir characterization of Chorgali Formation shows the variation in porosities throughout the reservoir zone. Water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation computed for the reservoir zone are 32.57686 % and 67.53424 % respectively confirming the presence of one valuable hydrocarbon zone. Finally performing rock physics analysis, it has been confirmed that the hydrocarbon zone present in the area is fractured. Lithology of the reservoir is limestone which is verified by its density values (ranging from 2.7 to 2.9 g/cm3) with secondary porosity acting as a source of hydrocarbon potential. | en_US |
