| dc.description.abstract | Migrated seismic lines 884-FMK-103, 884-FMK-104, 884-FMK-106, 884-FMK- 107, and 884-FMK-108 of Fimkasar area were obtained from Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC) for seismic interpretation and Well Logs of well Fimkasar 1 were obtained for petrophysical evaluation. Seismic lines 884-FMK-103 and 884-FMK-108 are oriented S-N, and Seismic lines 884-FMK-104 and 884-FMK-106 are oriented NW-SE of the Potwar foreland basin except for the seismic line 884-FMK-107 which is oriented NE-SW. The information we required was given within the time section, which was helpful in the conversion of the time section into depth section. These calculations helped in subsurface interpretation of the area, which was the basic purpose of this project Four reflectors were marked with Chorgali Formation (Top Eocene), Sakesar Limestone, and Patala formation. Faults were marked, and then time contour maps were generated. After that time sections were converted into depth sections with the help of average velocity and finally depth contour maps were generated, this helped to know the basic mechanism of the tectonic movement in the area. The major causes have been the thrust faults in the area that evoked from the basement salt movement and as a result formed anticlines. 1-lydrocarbon traps were most possibly developed in these anticlines and arc the prospective zones for hydrocarbon accumulation the Fimkasar area. Petrophysical evaluation of well Fimkasar 1 was carried out to highlight the reservoir area which included the selection of zone of interest followed by Log interpretation. The volume of shale, porosity, Permeability, Saturation of water, and Hydrocarbon Saturation was interpreted, On the basis of Petrophysical Evaluation it was noted that carbonate reservoir have dominant secondary porosity while devoid of hydrocarbons and the reservoir of Eocene (Chorgali and Sakesar Limestone) bore good porosity but it was also devoid of hydrocarbons. All these conditions make the well very uneconomical so it was abandoned. | en_US |
