Image Processing Based Order Routing via Cloud Hosted Platform to POS (Eat A lot)

Abstract

It’s a fact that the food sector is growing worldwide and also in our country. Managing huge number of customers for a barely literate waiter is quite a tough task. Hence we’re making image processing based order routing system to ease the burden on waiters, customers and also restaurant/hotel’s other staff. Firstly, we take out our smartphones and open the android app for the menu, we select our order from the menu and confirm it. Just like it happens on amazon and “add to cart” and other similar applications. Then the app opens the phone’s camera for us. We take the image of the QR code installed on the table where user is sitting to order. Our application then matches that QR code with table and recognizes the table number. The order then goes through a cloud service to the web end of our application where operators of restaurants will manage the order and tell the waiter to provide the given order to the specific customer plus the customer can also give our service a feedback using application. We have developed our project in the languages such as java and PHP and used their frameworks which are laravel, cordova and ionic. Each and every basic function of the application is tested in different conditions. After making this application we concluded that our application helps the waiters do their task without confusion. Furthermore, it also saves time for both customers and waiters.
