Abstract:
Purpose: This research has been conducted with the purpose to identify the impact of human
resource practices on employee’s job satisfaction in Karachi. Elements of demographics used
in this research are age, education and qualification. The sub scales of human resource
practices are empowerment and participation, working conditions, reward and recognition,
training and development, and teamwork.
Methodology & Design: Research instrument for Primary data collection is survey,
population of 480 employees in Karachi were targeted out of which 426 responded to survey.
To analyze data regression, correlation, ANOVA and Collinearity statistic are applied.
Findings: Employee’s job satisfaction is effected by human resource practices named as
empowerment and participation, reward and recognition, training and development and
teamwork and they have a significant relationship, among them the most important factors
that affect employee satisfaction are training and development and teamwork.
Limitations: Due to short period of time survey was sent online to targeted population and it
cannot be generalized to overall population of service sector in Karachi.
Recommendations: It is recommended to organizations to make human resource policies
and practices which can increase employee satisfaction. Teamwork should be encouraged;
reward, recognition, training and development must be provided to increase job satisfaction.
