Abstract:
Purpose
The main objective of this research is to examine the mediating effect of Organizational
Engagement in relationship between Supportive Work Environment and Retention of
Employees.
Methodology & Design
This research is quantitative in nature and it includes data collection of 243 respondents from
manufacturing sector of Karachi. A questionnaire is adopted to collect the data and then the
data were analyzed through Jamovi. Further correlation and mediation estimate were used to
check the mediating effect between variables.

Findings
The results suggest that the Supportive Work Environment plays an important role in
predicting the retention of employees. The relationship between Supportive Work
Environment and Employee Retention partially mediated by Organizational Engagement.
Limitations
The limitation for this research work is limited to manufacturing sector of Karachi. This
research is meant to be cross-sectional so that it is not generalized all over the world.
Research design used in this study is quantitative and only questionnaire is used to collect the
data.
Recommendations
Organizations need to provide comfortable working environment to their capable workforce,
right career path with future development plans, and competitive salaries so that employees
feel more loyal towards their organizations.
