Abstract:
Purpose:
The main purpose of this research is to find out the impact of existing HRM practices
employee job satisfaction. Main HRM practices included in this study are HR Planning, Training
and Development, Employee Compensation, Performance Appraisal.

Methodology:
This research study is explanatory and is based on quantitative nature. Deductive approach
adopted whereby hypotheses were developed after studying relevant literature and then
questionnaire was developed for obtaining satisfaction level of employees of different banks of
Karachi. Data was collected from a sample size of 302 employees of targeted banks. Correlation
and Regression tests are applied to analyze the data. Reliability of data was also observed.

Findings:
The results of the analysis show that there is a significant impact of training and development
and performance appraisal on increasing employee job satisfaction in selected banks of Karachi.
The remaining two practices, HR Planning and Employee compensation do not have positive
impact of employee job satisfaction.
Practical Implications:
This study is considered quite useful for management of the banking sector in understanding
impact of existing HRM practices on employee job satisfaction. Other organizations may also
benefit from the finding of this research.
