IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) ON SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (SCOR MODEL) : TEXTILE SECTOR IN KARACHI

Abstract

Purpose The main objective of this study was to find the impact of information and communication technology on the entire supply chain Different literature reviews done in this research emphasized on the fact that the use of technology in any driver of supply chain increases its performance efficiency.Effectiveness and reduces cost. In this research focus was on Textile sector and further it was narrowed down to the four famous textiles based in Karachi. Methodology & Design This research was of quantitative in nature and data was collected through close ended questionnaires distributed in selected Textiles .The sample size was set to 310 and data was collected from entire sample for analysis. Descriptive analysis, reliability test and multiple regression tests were run by using SPSS tools for study Findings Through this research we can say that it’s clear that by focusing on information technology systems Textiles can achieve supply chain excellence at every step especially in strategy formulation. Thus findings of this research provide strong support for urgent implementation of ICT systems in Textiles
