IMPACT OF PROJECT MANAGER'S COMMUNICATION SKILLS ON PROJECT SUCCESS IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OF LAHORE

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the impact of communication skills of a project manager on project success and how it contributes in achieving success for the project. A research questionnaire was designed and distributed among engineers, architects, site supervisor, construction and technical manager. The main focus of the questionnaire was to assess the competency of a project manager regarding the communication and its significance in the successful implementation and management of projects. The findings of the research demonstrate that the basic skills of communication of project manager form the foundation for effective management of scope, cost, quality and time. Communication during implementation has a binding role and it basically gels in time, scope and cost to result in a quality final product. The thesis concludes and recommends that communication of project manager is very important for success of a project. Special attention needs to be paid on the communication skills of a project manager for proper coordination and for having successful projects.
