INDISPENSABLE INFLUENCES OF SUSTAINABILITY IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT INVOLVING PROJECT MANAGER'S VIEWPOINT

Abstract

Sustainability and Project management both are the topics which have been undertaken for research by countless studies and authors. However, these two topics when integrated, need more deep studies focusing on their juncture. This study involves the triple-bottom line aspects of sustainability that are social, economic and environmental, which have been described in past researches briefly. This research aims to identify the indispensable influences of sustainability and its importance in project management involving a project manager's view point. A survey of project managers and related participants was performed. And collected data was then analyzed with the help of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) by performing certain tests. In the end, the results showed that the assumptions made are satisfied and the triple bottom-line aspects of sustainability have a major influence over the projects in Pakistan.
