Abstract:
This study has examined the impact of supply chain management practices on lean supply chain management in hoteling industry of Islamabad. In this study, our focus was mainly on identifying the impactful relationship that exist amongst overproduction, transport issues, and unnecessary inventory, representing supply chain management practices (independent variables) and lean supply chain management (dependent variable) in hoteling industry of Islamabad. To prove the relationship between SCM practices and lean SCM, a structured questionnaire has been used as a research instrument for collection of data from the officials associated with the hoteling industry of Islamabad. Based on the data collected from the respondents through structured questionnaire, several statistical instrumentshave beenused for data findings andanalyzingof data. Some statistical instruments such as descriptive frequencies, reliability, correlation analysis, and regression, were used to conduct this study. Results of those statistical instruments have clearly shown that there exists a significant negative correlation between overproduction, transport issues, and unnecessary inventory (SCM practices) and lean supply chain management. Finally, it has been concluded thatSCM practices (independent variables) tend to have significant negative impact on lean supply chain management (dependent variable)in hoteling industry of Islamabad.
