dc.description.abstract A petrophysical interpretation has been made with the help of wireline logs in the Miano gas field, Middle Indus Basin, Pakistan. SP log, Resistivity log, Density log, Sonic log, Neutron log, Gamma ray log and Caliper log are used The rock parameters which have been used for petrophysical interpretations are shale volume, primary porosity, secondary porosity, total porosity, effective porosity, water saturation, hydrocarbon saturation, porosity and water saturation, permeability and pseudo density. The producing reservoir is Lower Goru Formation in Miano-1 and Miano-4 well. The ‘C’ interval of Miano-1 acts as reservoir. The Miano-1 well is gas bearing well. Petrophysical interpretation shows about 40% hydrocarbons are present in Miano-1. While in the Miano-4 well petrophysical analysis shows that it is an abandoned well because 80% water. The Miano-4 is water bearing well and has no potential of hydrocarbon. Most of the zones of the Miano-1 are washed out. Because of mud the density of rocks could not be calculated by density log, therefore petrophysical parameters for petrophysical interpretation were applied. The pinch out formations and variation in thickness are confirmed by the stratigraphic correlation between Miano-1 and Miano-4. en_US
