Impact of e-procurement on supply chain performance in Beverage industry of Rawalpindi and Islamabad

Abstract

The current study aims to evaluate the impact of e procurement on the performance of supply chain for the beverage industry of Islamabad. In order to do so, four constructs of e procurement are taken as independent variables to evaluate their impact on supply chain performance. The four constructs that are taken to construct the e procurement processes are e tendering, e sourcing, e ordering and e informing. The sample of study is 221 employees from the supply chain department of beverage companies in Islamabad. Data is collected through questionnaire and results are processed with descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. Based on the findings all four independent variables came out to have a significant and positive relationship with supply chain performance of beverage industry of Islamabad. Recommendations are given at the end of the thesis for compounding upon the findings of this research. The study could be improved if the academicians to conduct similar type of studies with open ended questionnaire to collect data so more can be obtained about the constructs of e procurement and their role in the performance of a supply chain. Further studies can be conducted in other area of manufacturing industries outside Rawalpindi and Islamabad for instance in more industrial cities such as Karachi and Lahore.
