Abstract:
The objective of the study was to examine the impact of logistics (warehousing, inventory management, transportation, order processing, and materials handling) on supply chain management performance of hotel industryin Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This study has considered warehousing, inventory management, transportation, order processing, and materials handling, representing logistical activities, as independent variables. Whereas, supply chain management performance of hotel industry is recognized as the dependent variable within this study in order to testify their relationship within twin cities of Pakistan. Structured questionnaire based on 5 Likert scale has been the research instruments within this study for collection of data from respondents (employees of hotelsinRawalpindi and Islamabad). A sample size of200 respondents has been selected to represent the entire population. The questionnaire was distributed in employees of hoteling industryin Rawalpindi and Islamabad to gather the data. Collected data was then analyzed through statistical instruments such as correlation and regression by using SPSS Software. Based on the findings, it has been concluded that logistics (warehousing, inventory management, transportation, order processing, and materials handling) is having significant positive impact on the supply chain management performance ofhoteling industry in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
