Impact of Mergers & Acquisitions on the Profitability of an Organization; Banking Sector of Pakistan

Abstract

Banking sector of Pakistan is vital for the growth of the economy and business in the country for both local as well as overseas affairs. The vitality of banking can be proved in tem1s of the growth, development, and progress of the banking sector of Pakistan in the last decade. This study examines and analyzes the Impact of merger and acquis ition on the banking sector of Pakistan. The relationsh ip between banks, the ri sks involved in mergers. liquidity. and the size and performance of banks involved in the merger will be discussed in this paper. Data will be collected through past financial reports of the concerned banks. This data will include the list of banks involved in a merger and acquisition that are presently operational.. The main concerns and issues regarding mergers and acquisitions will be discussed in this paper. Later, a proposed solution based on the reading and the data analyzes will be undertaken to conclude this report.
