Abstract:
This study has been designed to find out the impact of workplace environment on productivity
of the employees. This study has been conducted on the employees of banking sector of
Pakistan and employees from the banks in Karachi have participated in the study. Deductive
approach was adopted for this explanatory research. A sample of 200 employees of the
banking sector was selected for collecting quantitative data. Purposive convenient sampling
technique has been utilized to select the sample from the target population and data has been
collected by a questionnaire which has been adopted on the bases of extensive literature
review. Data has been analyzed by the descriptive analysis, reliability test, correlation and
regression analysis It has been found that working environment has significant positive
impact on employee productivity which shows that improvement in working environment can
enhance the performance of the employees. It has been found that working environment is a
significant predictor of the productivity. Limitations and suggestions have been discussed.
This study is considered quite useful for management of banking industry in understanding
Effectiveness of their existing practices meant to develop their employees. Managers in
Banking Industry need to introduce workload, training and development, working
environment Productivity. Managers of banking sector may also benefit from the finding of
study.
