IMPACT OF EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT IN DECISION ON EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION AND COMMITMENT

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors that are involved in making employee more committed and motivated in an organization. In the present time organizations are forced to be more flexible and adapting in order to remain competitive and the importance of employee’s increases to get efficient business results. This study reveals the importance of employee involvement in decision making and also its effect on employee motivation and employee commitment. Methodology: The data was collected from the employees of Food Sector of Pakistan with the help of a simple questionnaire. Convenient sampling technique was utilized for the data collection and a total of208 survey questionnaire data has been collected from which return response is 204 confirming the response rate of 98 %. The data was analyzed and edited with the aid of SPSS software programmed. Both regression and con-elation tests are applied. Findings: According to the findings it is evident that there is a strong positive correlation between employee involvements in decision making and employee commitment and motivation. Practical Implications: It is therefore recommended that organization and management should involve employees in decision making on matters which affect the workers formance as well as organizations performance leading towards achieving organizational goals.
