Video Based Classification and Detection System of Vehicles

Abstract

Video based vehicle classification and counting system for all motorway toll plazas’s being built for the purpose of minimizing corruption on the toll plaza and keeping a strict record of every single vehicle passing through. It will result in providing us with a report about the number of vehicles passing through and also classify their type (HTV, LTV) and compare with the ticket book for check and balance. It is a desktop application in which we are using a digital video camera openCV libraries Background Subtraction Algorithm technique to classify and count the no. of vehicles on separate categories. Three blocks are shown on the display screen, one of them counts the total no. of vehicles and other two are classifying categories of HTV and LTV basis. Classification is done on the basis of their size.
