Abstract:
Eastern Potwar is highly deformed area and hosts several structural traps with complex geometries and are producing hydrocarbons. The present study aims to understand the structural framework, fault seal analysis and petrophysical analysis of Missa Keswal area. The seismic data (four dip lines and one strike line) and well data (Missa Keswal-01) was obtained from Landmark Resources (LMKR) with the approval of Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC). Four reflectors i.e. Top Murree, Top Chorgali, Top Sakesar and Top Basement were marked by using Time-Depth chart by incorporating well tops and average velocities. The interpretation was extended to all seismic lines by using control lines followed by preparation of Time-Depth contour maps shows a pop-up geometry bounded by a fore and back thrust. Fault seal analysis was conducted through Allan diagram, which concluded that Murree Formation is acting as probable seal against the Chorgali and Sakesar Formation. The petrophysical analysis of reservoir zone in Sakesar Limestone indicates good reservoir potential i.e average porosity, effective porosity etc. but saturation of hydrocarbon does not support commercial discovery in future
