Abstract:
Aim - The aim of this study is to do analysis of the role of green policy in supply chain sustainability in manufacturing sector of Pakistan. Background - Green supply chain management (GSCM) has become the driver of sustainable strategy. This topic has been gaining increasing attention within both academia and industry for making the industry competitive. With the ever increasing demand for reducing carbon footprints and greenhouse gas emission, there is a need to study the various parameters and drivers of sustainable development, especially in supply chain management. Methodology - The need for developing the sustainable model including the drivers of sustainability needs to be designed. Different statistics were applied on the data collected from the questionnaires to examine the role of green policy in supply chain sustainability in manufacturing sector of Pakistan. General survey guided by well structured questionnaire through convenience sampling has been administered across a valuable samples, representing the major industries of Pakistan. The study indicates that the green policy has positive and strong impact on the supply chain sustainability in manufacturing sector because the industries operating here have successfully implemented the concept of green policy in their systems. Keywords – Green purchasing, Green manufacturing, Green distribution, Reverse logistics. In this study, major activities of the supply chain; namely green purchasing, green manufacturing, green distribution and reverse logistics are being covered throughout the research. The study recommended that the manufacturing industries should take radical steps to frame their policies in such a way that they can achieve purpose of green policy in supply chain sustainability for Eco-friendly and better environment.
