dc.description.abstract | Project Management Office (PMO) has grown as an important business unit worldwide in almost all type of organizations such as, production, telecommunication, banking, education and engineering etc. This study aims to study the roles and services it offers for the better management of project and performance of the organization it is operating. This research also aims to identify the high level roles of PMO, as organizations might waste money, time and resources on implementation and establishment of PMOs that do not fulfill their needs and requirements. PMO has various roles and services, departmental structure within the organization, team members and nature of roles and responsibilities. These roles and responsibilities, structure and teams may vary according to the requirement and needs of the concerning organization. The roles of PMO might be administrative, supportive and coordinative. In some organizations there might be operating multiple PMOs depending on the needs of each departments within organization. To achieve the goals of this research, a quantitative research methodology has been used which includes a questionnaire comprises of questions relating to the higher level roles and services of PMO. This research after the analysis of data recommends to establish Project Management Office (PMO). The outcomes of this research show that PMO help organizations for better management of projects and increasing the overall performance of organizations. The outcome of this research also shows that PMO plays a strong in monitoring.and controlling of projects, ’ development of project management competencies and methodologies, management of multiple projects within organization and strategic management of organizations. | en_US |
