dc.description.abstract The Indus Offshore Basin is a rift and passive margin basin which is associated with the destruction of Gondwanaland and northward movement of Indian plate. Tectonically, three plates namely, Indian, Arabian and Eurasian interact directly to shape the sedimentary basins in Offshore Pakistan and formed triple junction in Indian Ocean but a fourth plate (African plate) has also contributed in the past during the evolution of these basins.Using seismic data time and depth maps were generated which shows a carbonate build-up structure on top of a basement high. Para sequence sets on the basis of gamma ray log readings were marked with petrophysical analysis carried out over Pak G2-01 well. Only one prominent zone of interest is marked which showed around 40% hydrocarbon saturation with 12% effective porosity in the given zone and 10.3% shale volume.Evaluation of the source rock potential of the Paleocene-Eocene in the Indus Offshore Basin has also been done. In order to draw maturity evolution of the Paleocene- Eocene strata through time,1D basin modeling was performed on both the wells based on litho-stratigraphic and thermal inputs from the wells and seismic data. Which suggests liquid hydrocarbon generation along the fringe of the Paleocene-Eocene basin with enhanced maturity towards the depocenter en_US
