Abstract:
Purpose
This research discusses the Walton s Model and its impact for Quality of Work Life on employees working in coal importing companies. The purpose of this explanatory research paper
to understand how certain factors influence the work life of the employees of top three coal
importing companies of Karachi. While salary stands as an important factor, it is the work
environment that is also extremely important for the respondents.

Methodology and Data
The data was gathered through primary sources (i.e. questionnaire) from the employees of Coal
importers in Karachi, Awan Trading Company, Sea Trade and Lucky Commodities.
Furthermore, the study is exploratory, qualitative and quantitative both in nature. Convenience
sampling technique of non-probability is used in this research with sample size of 300. Further
the data is collected, stored and analyzed to find the relationship between Quality of Work Life.
Moreover, to reach the outcome of the research, the statistical software i.e. SPSS version 22 is
used.
Findings
According to the importance of human resources in evolving the goals of the organization,
improving the quality of work life has become one of the main goals of the organizations. The
factors that have been outlined are important in the sense that those elements can be integrated in
the work life of the employees to make it more productive. In this way, this result of the research
also be applied practically, with changes according to the corporate culture and geographical
location of the organization.
Practical Implications
The final conclusion and recommended strategies are further mentioned in the chapter 6 of the
research paper which can be referred for further review and necessary actions.
