dc.description.abstract Occupational accidents and work-related concerns have been in debate for a long time, no concrete moves have been taken, making situations worse and posing consistent forces to an increasing labor force. The present study was undertaken to observe the occupational health and safety issues in Sihala Flour Mill, I-9 and Al-Faisal Flour Mill, I-10, Industrial Area, Islamabad. Data was collected for noise level, lux level, vibration and water quality. Further, structured interviews, work-site observations via walk through survey was used as an evaluation tool for general housekeeping, physical and psychological hazards. Water quality of Al-Faisal Mill was found inside permissible limit. Noise was high at second, third, and fourth floors of both the mills. Higher noise measured at fourth floor of Al-Faisal and Sihala mills were 88db and 85db respectively. Vibration was high at Al-Faisal second floor was 1 Hz which is over the standard limit. Illumination was acceptable in both the mills at day time yet because of low space and poor housekeeping light don't go through appropriately. At evening time light was too low in a few sections of the buildings of both mills. The average temperature level which measured was 23 degree at Al-Faisal mill and 22 degree at Sihala mill. Humidity was high than the standard limit at both the mills. Most extreme mugginess which measured at Al-Faisal was 79% and at Sihala was 78%. Laborers working at Sihala were healthy and gave the great worksite environment yet the workers of Al-Faisal were more prone to hazards since they were working at awful working conditions. The normal wellbeing issue at both mills was ergonomics. High % of the workers of Al-faisal were having breathing and coughing issues show the fact that they were directly exposed to dust. en_US
