Abstract:
The study attempts to explore the master plan of Islamabad by the content analysis of the proposal and to identify the challenges faced by the Capital development authority during the implementation process, it further elaborates the process of land acquisition along with case studies of different residential sectors for better understanding and to point out the main hindrances, the emerging issue of katchi abadi has been discussed, for the understanding of the planning mechanism of the authority the top to bottom approach is applied which helped to investigate the limitations of CDA, the inner voice of the field operation employees that revealed many realities at the time of operations, the attitude of officers and the clash of institutions during operation. The research aimed to categorize the challenges that affects the implementation process frequently so that the approach towards identifying problem could be reformed and the challenges can be prioritized for rapid actions. At the end the study has some recommendations for future improvement.
