dc.description.abstract Purpose - Despite a pervasive workforce shortage, existing research has provided limited guidance about work value i.e. workforce levels and commitment of the supply chain workforce. Moreover, few studies explore the effects of workforce level on such commitment. The paper aims to discuss this issue. I ■; ! ; Design/methodology/approach - To address this gap, the authors apply quantitative methodology to study the critical work value drivers of supply chain job commitment workforce levels through survey data. i across Findings -industry commitment are impacted differently across workforce levels (work values). The-findings shows that,-these work values (Extrinsic, Supervisory; Altruistic, Stability,- Intrinsic, Leisure and Social) have significant impact on commitment and hence, the performance of supply chain i.e. its success. i ■ i Practical implications - The results reveal how proactive organizations can not only hire and retain the best people through these work values but also help employees at different workforce levels understand one another’s motivations, empowering these organizations to become employers of choice. The study also strikes new ground by assessing differences in work values across workforce levels. en_US
