dc.description.abstract The objective of the research is to carry out an Electrical resistivity survey in sector G- 14/3 to find Aquifer properties, to determine the depth of water table and to propose new well location to full fill the demand of protective fresh water aquifers. The methodology of working is Vertical Electrical Sounding using Schlumberger configuration. The maximum spread is 160 m and minimum is 1m in length. ABEM Terrameter SAS4000 is used for resistivity readings.IX1D software is used in determining different lithological layers on the basis of their resistivity values. Based on the results, it is concluded that the potential groundwater zone in the study area exists at depth >35 m. The results of Dar Zarrouk parameters provide a fair idea about the subsurface, Calculation of Dar Zarrouk parameters is used to find out the aquifer properties, aquifer protection capacity and give a probable well location. Dar Zarrouk parameters at the surface and at >35m depth is calculated for generating contour maps. Contour maps generated gives us information about study area, protective and excellent zones are marked on maps. The aquifer protection capacity of the study area is good to excellent butt VES-3 and VES-5 have high longitudinal conductance values which makes them of excellent aquifer protective capacity and highest priority in terms of groundwater. Based on the results of Transverse resistance at VES-4 and VES-8 shows high transverse resistance values which is the indication of high transitivity and have good groundwater potential. Combining these results, a probable well location can be at VES-1, VES-7 and VES-8. en_US
